The last couple of years have been quite a ride! After a fun and successful event in 2018, produced in partnership with St. Petersburg College-Seminole Campus and our friends at the Innovation Lab there, in 2019, we took a hiatus to open AMRoC Fab Lab in Uptown Tampa. AMRoC opened to the public in 2019 and we were all set for a big MakerCon event in Uptown when COVID-19 came calling. So Gulf Coast MakerCon went on hold again for another year.
This past May, with things looking somewhat better, we hosted a mini-Maker event in celebration of National Inventors Month, with a variety of special programs – including a Deconstruction Zone with our old friend eSmart Recycling! – and build challenges at AMRoC Fab Lab.
Now that we’re wrapping up our 2nd Fab Lab anniversary and finding a new normal dealing with COVID, it’s time to look ahead to Gulf Coast MakerCon 2022!
So we’re kicking things off now with a brand new home on the web – this website with the new URL: GulfCoastMakerCon.com.
You can find our history, all our previous posts and features and media from our earliest events to our most recent on these pages. And you can still follow along on our social media, via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
We’ll open maker registration sometime during the winter and hope to announce a new spring date for MakerCon soon.
In the meantime, bookmark this page, stay safe and Make On! We’ll see you at Gulf Coast MakerCon 2022!
