As we announced on social media not too long ago, Gulf Coast MakerCon 2020 is planned for May 23 & 24 at University Mall, the new location for FCDI’s  AMRoC Fab Lab headquarters.   While our hope is to hold the event as planned, we’re doing due diligence with respect to the COVID-19 virus and watching developments in Hillsborough County and Tampa Bay carefully.
In collaboration with University Mall management, we’ll make a final go/no-go determination the first week in April, based on recommendations and reports from the Centers for Disease Control and local health departments.  To that end, we encourage you to sign up if you’re interested in participating in Gulf Coast MakerCon 2020 at our sign up link at right. We won’t collect commercial vendor fees until April, after we confirm whether we’re continuing with the event as planned.
Even if we make a determination to continue with the event in April, if anything changes to adversely affect plans, we’ll act accordingly.  But we do want to reassure our local Makers that we take current health concerns seriously, and put the health, safety and well-being of exhibitors and guests first and foremost. If we do need to postpone the event, we’ll do our best to have a new date as soon as possible.
In the meantime, Make On!  And sign up if you want to participate in Gulf Coast MakerCon 2020 – or 21, as the case may be!
